Since 1974, we have aimed to reach all people in the Kennebec Valley area with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Our History

KVBC originated February 10, 1974 with Christian families meeting together from the surrounding communities. It was organized as a major evangelical witness in the greater Waterville area. The name 'Kennebec Valley' was chosen so not to offer any geographical confines, and that anyone from Kennebec or Somerset counties might feel at home.

The early church families met in the Moody Memorial Chapel on the Hinckley School campus. A building fund was initiated in November of 1974.
Later, a four-acre-plus tract of land was purchased from John Stetson on Marston Road. On October 3, 1976, official ground breaking ceremonies were held for the original $100,000 facility.

On May 22, 1977, Dr. Wendell Calder founder of Living Waters Camp, a well-known evangelist throughout our nation, spoke at the dedication services of the new building. Since its completion, the building has had two major renovations and additions- including church offices and a youth building.

Our Purpose

We are an active church concerned about eternal souls, spiritual growth, families, and world missions. We are an independent, Bible-believing church ministering the truths of God's Word.

This is a church where you can learn God's Word and God's Will and fellowship with those having mutual goals.

Let us assure you that you are welcome here at Kennebec Valley Baptist Church! We count it a privilege to minister to you.

This is a place for your children. Through our Sunday School, Junior Church, and our Awana Clubs we teach godly character and proper attitude essential for mature behavior and responsibility.
